	Biographical/Historical:	In November 1996, the House of Representatives reorganized the standing House committees into Councils. Except for the Procedural Council, each council shall consist of a chair, the Steering and Liaison Member, and the chair and vice chair of each of the committees assigned the group. The Councils shall rank each of the bills upon referral in order of importance to the House and shall forward such ranking to the Speaker. The ranking shall be amended as the council receives additional reports at least once each calendar week and no more than twice in a calendar week. Councils may return bills available for ranking to the appropriate standing committee with a request for further consideration including but not limited to combining two or more bills into a commitee substitute. The House Commerce Council was formed in 2004. The Council for Competitive Commerce was formed in 2000 with the consolidation of elements from the Consumer Affairs Council and the Economic Development Council. The Council for Competitive Commerce consisted of the following committees: House Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, House Banking, House Economic Development and International Trade, House Insurance, House Tourism, and the House Select Committee on Oversight and Accountability for Florida's Pension Funds .
	Summary:	This series contains audiotaped recordings of the House Commerce Council (2004 - ) and the House Council for Competitive Commerce Council (2001 - 2002) hearings. The tapes are not indexed or transcribed.
