Biographical/Historical:     The Florida Military Academy opened in Jacksonville in the late nineteenth century to train young men for military professions. The academy moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, in 1932 and closed permanently in 1951.
Summary:     This collection contains three photographs and one copy of a newsletter from the Florida Military Academy in Jacksonville, Florida. The photographs depict young men posing for a class picture. The newsletter is "The Sentinel," Volume I, Number 1, published in January 1914. "The Sentinel" was a monthly publication produced by the students at Florida Military Academy with news, stories, photographs, and advertisements.
