Biographical/Historical:     P.A. Borden Hamilton established the Florida Federation of Women's Clubs (FFWC) in 1895 in Green Cove Springs (Clay County), Florida. Created to coordinate and expand the activities of the various community women's clubs throughout the state, the FFWC has been involved in numerous projects, including establishing Royal Palm State Park, helping to establish the Everglades National Park, and creating the Hacienda Girls Camp in Melbourne. One of its most notable members was May Mann Jennings, spouse to Florida Governor William S. Jennings and long-time FFWC president. Jennings was active in political and preservation issues, helping to write legislation creating the Florida Park Service and the Florida Forest Service. The FFWC is headquartered in Lakeland, Florida.

Summary:     This collection consists of newspaper clippings and two photographs documenting the 1928 and 1929 annual meetings of the Florida Federation of Women's Clubs (FFWC) held in Coral Gables, Florida. The clippings describe the meetings' activities and list the members and officers.
