Summary:     This collection contains photographs that document various business and industrial activities in Florida between the end of the nineteenth century and the 1950s such as phosphate mining, lumber industry, seafood industry, apparel shops, horse and dog racing, and canal digging. The images depict various forms of transportation such as trains and steamboats, as well as buildings and businesses such as hotels and shops. One image of a kennel club in Miami depicts three white men traveling on a mule-pulled tram to arrive at the club during the Civil Right movement's bus boycott in the 1950s.
