Summary:     This collection contains photographs of various Florida scenes during the end of the nineteenth century. The images depict Floridians, including Seminole Indians, in various places, situations, and activities. Images include boarding houses, automobiles, and a military parade in Jacksonville during the Spanish-American War attended by William Jennings Bryan and Theodore Roosevelt and his "Rough Riders." Images of Key West document the construction of the Florida East Coast Railway and enslaved Black men working on a plantation.

    Other scenes depicted in the collection are students at a boarding house, various structures to document different architectural styles, turpentine industry, and various automobiles. The collection also contains photographs of the State Prison Farm (later Union Correctional Facility), John D. Rockefeller at the Women's Club Fair in Ormond, Live Oak Plantation, and the 1935 hurricane damage in Key West and Miami. The collection also contains one 12" x 10" oval shaped crayon print of two young, unidentified children.
