Biographical/Historical:     In the 1840s, American architect Alexander Jackson Davis popularized the Italianate style of architecture, inspired by Italian Renaissance characteristics. The style prospered with development of cast-iron and press-metal technology used in the production of decorative cornices, brackets, and moldings. The style continued to be popular in the United States into the early nineteenth century.
Summary:     This collection contains two photographs of an unidentified young woman, dressed in a formal gown, on the porch of a Pensacola home. The photographs depict various angles of the front exterior of the house, which is in the Italianate architectural style.
