Biographical/Historical:     Hyde Park was Tampa's first suburb, purchased and designed in 1886 by O.H. Platt of Hyde Park, Illinois. Bungalow Terrace was a section of Hyde Park built in 1916 that featured a series of California bungalows for Florida's winter residents. The Tampa Women's Club moved to Hyde Park in 1922 and established its headquarters in the 1882 O.J. Stafford House. Marjore Spaulding Renfrew (1876-1949) lived in Bungalow Terrace in the 1920s and was a member of the Tampa Women's Club. She was living in Pinellas County when she passed away in 1949.

Summary:     This collection consists of eleven photographs and postcards collected by Marjore Spaulding Renfrew, a winter resident of Tampa in the 1920s. Included are images of the Tampa Women's Club and Tampa's Hyde Park neighborhood, including Bungalow Terrace. Also included are personal photographs from Renfrew's 1923 Hawaii vacation. Renfrew labeled some of the images.

Ownership/Custodial History: These photographs were purchased in 1952 at an estate sale for long-time Pinellas County resident Marjore Spaulding Renfrew. The buyer then donated the materials to Allen Morris, the curator and creator of the Florida Photographic Collection, which at that time was located at Florida State University. In 1982, that collection was transferred to the Florida State Archives.
