The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. 	Summary:	This series contains information on legislation and laws affecting state and public library administration. The majority of the files contain correspondence between State Librarian Barratt Wilkins and legislators regarding libraries and sources of library funding. There are also records related to specific library measures such as the 1983 revision of Florida Chapter 257, which clarified definitions of state library functions and responsibilities. Other subjects include House Bill 765 (the Public Library Financial Assistance Act of 1986, a.k.a. the "Book Tax"), Senate Bill 344 (which concerned equalizing the distribution of funds to public libraries), and library budget requests from 1991 to 1993. There is also correspondence related to the 1986 study of public library funding in Florida as well as correspondence between former State Librarian Cecil P. Beach and U.S. congressional representatives concerning the effect of the Library Services and Construction Act.
