The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     This series consists of a video cassette tape of the presentation by Secretary of State Sandra B. Mortham of the 1997 Outstanding Women Achievement Awards on March 11, 1997.  Secretary Mortham introduced the recipients, and those recipients present made brief remarks following her introduction.
    Recipients present were:  State Senator Mary Grizzle, women's and children's advocate; microbiologist and church and community activist Leona Cooper; Brigadier General Marianne Mathewson-Chapman, Persian Gulf War veteran and highest ranking woman in the Florida National Guard; Senator Paula Hawkins, first woman elected to the United States Senate without a preceding male relative; Marion P. Hammer, first woman president of the National Rifle Association; cancer survivor and patient advocate Lourdes P. Aguila; and women's rights activist Roxcy Bolton.  Recipients not present were Linda Loomis Shelley, first woman Chief of Staff to a Florida governor (Lawton Chiles); AIDS activist Mary Fisher; and tennis champion and child advocate Chris Evert.
    The awards presentation was held in conjunction with the opening of "Profiles: Lives of Florida Women," a Women's History Month exhibit presented by the Florida State Archives with assistance from the Museum of Florida History.
