The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     The volumes contain copies of commissions issued to those individuals who had been elected to either state or county office 1936 to 1937 and 1940 to 1943.  Each certificate specifies the name of the person being commissioned; the office title; the term of office; the name of the Governor and Secretary of State; and occasionally the date of filing of oath and bond by the commissioned officer.  The State and County Directories (Series 1284) serve as an index to this series.  It is not known why these certificates were filed separate from the regular Records of Commission (Series 1285).
