The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     The volumes contain letters that accompanied the commission certificates issued to individuals who were appointed or elected to state and local government offices from 1845 to 1863.  Volume 7 contains letters for military commissions from 1849 to 1853.  The letters notified the recipient of the commission and instructed the individual in executing and returning the certification to the Secretary of State.
