Biographical/Historical:     Beginning in 1905, Florida's Secretary of State was responsible for maintaining a record of automobile and motor vehicle registrations (Chapter 5437, Laws of Florida). Owners and operators of motor vehicles filed a brief description of their vehicles on blanks furnished by the Secretary of State. That office then entered the information into a bound volume and issued the owner or operator a certificate of registration.
Summary:     This series contains the volume of Florida's first vehicle registrations as recorded by the Secretary of State. Each handwritten registration indicates the name and post office address of the registrant plus the manufacturer, style, horsepower and factory number of the vehicle. Each entry is dated and assigned a unique registration number.
