Biographical/Historical:     The Governor's Advisory Council on Farmworker Affairs was created in 1987 by Executive Order 87-177.  The Council was administered by the Executive Office of the Governor.  The purpose of the Council was to address the concerns of agricultural employers and farmworkers, private groups, public agencies, and individual citizens regarding the improvement of the living and working conditions of farmworkers and migrant labor.  The Council was extended to exist until December 31, 1992 by Executive Order 91-71.
Summary:     This series contains the records, 1987-1991, of the Governor's Advisory Council on Farmworker Affairs.  The records include subject files and meeting files.  The meeting files consist of correspondence regarding the meetings, background information, minutes, and agenda.
