The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Migrant Labor Program to help Florida's seasonal agricultural workers was originally established under the Division of Migrant Labor in the Department of Community Affairs in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws).  The Program was transferred to the Department's Division of Community Services in 1974 (Ch. 74-307, Laws) and then to the Executive Office of the Governor in 1979 (Ch. 79-190, Laws). The Program was under the Inspector General who followed up complaints lodged by workers and others.  In 1987, Governor Bob Martinez abolished the Office of the Inspector General; the Program was transferred to the Citizens' Assistance Office.
Summary:     This series consists of the administrative files of the Migrant Labor Program, 1973-1991.  The records include correspondence, legislative files, memoranda, newspaper clippings, publications, reports, and information regarding migrant labor programs in other states.
