	Biographical/Historical:	Eunice Watson Liberty was born in 1904 in Kissimmee, Florida. Eunice completed eighth grade at the Mary McLeod Bethune Normal Industrial Institute for Negro Girls in Daytona Beach and graduated from Edward Waters High School in Jacksonville. She earned her teaching certificate at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 1927 and a Master's degree at Columbia University in New York in 1950. Eunice married King Liberty in 1935 and worked as a teacher for Miami Dade Public Schools for almost 40 years. After her retirement in 1969, she successfully advocated for the inclusion of African American history in the school curriculum. Liberty was a long-standing member of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) and served as President of its Miami Chapter. She represented the NCNW on the Metro-Dade Commission on the Status of Women and was very involved in local government. Much of her work has been to increase education on and awareness of the contributions made by Mary McLeod Bethune, even campaigning for schools and a multi-cultural children's community center named for Bethune. Liberty died in 2001.
	Summary:	This collection contains correspondence, articles and speeches, newspaper clippings, programs and background materials on the National Council of Negro Women, photographs and miscellaneous materials of Eunice Watson Liberty. The collection documents her efforts on behalf of children, education, and the community in the Miami area as well as her work with the National Council of Negro Women. The correspondence primarily documents Liberty's attempts to establish a community youth house in honor of Mary McLeod Bethune and the establishment of a Black Archives in Miami.
