Biographical/Historical:     Stephen Kilpatrick Causseaux was born in Screven County, Georgia, on August 31, 1839. He moved to Florida with his parents in 1848 and married Mary Edna Ferrell on November 26, 1872. He was a farmer by occupation and lived in Wakulla County, Florida, near what is now Wakulla Springs. Causseaux died on August 3, 1915.
Summary:     The collection contains the diary of Stephen Kilpatrick Causseaux of Wakulla County, Florida, from January 1, 1874 to November 27, 1875. The journal mainly chronicles Causseaux's efforts in farming his land, the birth and subsequent health of his two infant children, and the social interaction between the Causseaux family and various neighbors and family members.
