The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Tallahassee Symphony Guild was established in 1961. In 1964, the organization changed its name to the Tallahassee Music Guild. The objective of the organization is to promote interest in music in the community through the awarding of scholarships, funded through members' dues and donations. Membership in the Guild is by invitation and is limited to 75 active members. Elected officers and appointed committee chairs comprise the Executive Board, which conducts the official business of the Guild.
Summary:     The collection contains the records of the Tallahassee Music Guild and its predecessor, the Tallahassee Symphony Guild. The records include minutes, financial statements, membership information, and scrapbooks. The guild's scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings, programs, publicity records, and photographs.
