Summary:     The collection contains maps and plans that depict Florida as it was in colonial times. The maps originated from English, Spanish, and French sources. Some of the maps depict parts of Georgia, Carolina, and Louisiana as well.

    Included in the collection are the following maps: southeastern North America (1742) by Antonio de Arredondo; Georgia with part of Florida (1748) by Emanuel Bowen; Georgia and Florida (1763) by Thomas Wright; a plan of St. Augustine (c. 1764) by Don John de Solis; a plan of Amelia Island in East Florida (1770) by William Fuller; the coast of West Florida and Louisiana (1775) by Thomas Jefferys; the southern British colonies including East and West Florida (1776) by B. Romans; the road from Pensacola to St. Augustine (1778) by Joseph Purcell; and the coast of East Florida (1769) by William Gerar de Brahm. In addition, the collection contains a map of the Florida East coast from Talbot Island to Musquitta [sic] River with a plan of St. Augustine (c. 1740), and a map of the Florida East Coast from the St. Johns River to Cape Canaveral (1791), cartographers unknown.
