Biographical/Historical:     In 1941, the Florida Legislature passed an act providing for the enlargement, alteration, and repair of the South Wing of the Capitol Building (Chapter 20528, Laws of Florida). Architects Elliott B. Hadley and Carl N. Atkinson, of Hadley and Atkinson Architects in St. Petersburg, Florida, submitted drawings, plans, and specifications for the South Wing modifications. The Florida Board of Commissioners of State Institutions was responsible for approving the plans and allocating funds.
Summary:     The collection consists of architectural drawings of the 1942 South Wing additions to the State Capitol Building as drawn by Hadley and Atkinson Architects of St. Petersburg, Florida. The State Library of Florida holds the related book of specifications.
