Biographical/Historical:     Gospero Sweet (1774-1856) was a Methodist minister and planter. Born in South Carolina, he moved to Georgia after marrying Ann Munnerlyn. In 1826 they settled in Gadsden County, Florida.

    Jonah Collins Woodberry (ca.1781-1856) was also a pioneer Methodist minister. Born in South Carolina, he married Margaret Paisley in 1808 and settled in Gadsden County around 1824.

Summary:     This collection consists of a eulogical tribute to the Reverends Gospero Sweet and Collins Woodbury, written by a member of the Quarterly Conference of the Gadsden Circuit, Florida Conference, where both men preached. It was printed by a resolution of the Bible classes of Mount Pleasant Sunday School at the Southern Methodist Publishing House in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1857. Both preachers died in 1856.
