Biographical/Historical:     Representative Fred D. Bryant (Democrat) of Gainesville, Florida. served Alachua County in the State House of Representative in 1937. An active legislator, Bryant was most concerned with appropriations, not only for his constituency but also for the Florida State College for Women and the Florida State Hospital. He also fought hard to obtain possession of the Ringling Museum for the State of Florida.

Summary:     The collection contains incoming correspondence of Representative Fred D. Bryant pertaining to pending 1937 legislation. There is also a news clipping discussing Bryant's role in the 1937 session. Also included is a University of Florida report to the Budget Commission, dated October 13, 1936, covering the 1937-1939 biennium budget for the university.
