Biographical/Historical:     Wilbur Fisk Yarbrough was born in 1866 at Milledgeville, Georgia. He graduated from the Atlanta Medical College in 1887, and practiced for two years at Oxford, Georgia, before moving to Jefferson County, Florida, in 1889. He married Corinne Turnbull, the daughter of Theodore and Mary Turnbull. Theodore Turnbull was a landowner and jurist of Jefferson County, Florida. Mary Simpson Yarbrough, the daughter of Corinne and Wilbur Yarbrough, attended Leon High School and Florida State College for Women.

Summary:     The collection contains papers and photographs of the Turnbull and Yarbrough families. The papers include some of Theodore Turnbull's land and business records, and Wilbur Fisk Yarbrough's medical practice records, notably his journal containing prescriptions and accounts for his practice in Miccosukee (Leon County).

    The collection also includes Mary Simpson Yarbrough's 1924 scrapbook from her senior year at Leon High School, Corinne Turnbull's 1880 school notebook that she later used to record family accounts, numerous photographs (including views of Magnolia Lodge and Miccosukee), newspaper clippings, and obituaries. There are also are some publications, including an 1885 pamphlet titled, "A Message from China to the Woman's Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South" concerning the formation of a joint stock company within the church to finance missionary schools in the Far East.
