Biographical/Historical:     Thomas Burton Adams, Jr. was born March 11, 1917.  After a career in real estate management and agriculture, Adams entered politics and was first elected to the Florida Senate in 1956.  In 1960 Adams was elected Secretary of State of Florida.  He served as Secretary of State until elected as Lieutenant Governor in 1971. Adams also served as Secretary of the Dept. of Commerce while serving as Lieutenant Governor.
Summary:     The series contains copies of speeches given by Lt. Governor Adams between January 1971 to August 1971.  The speeches reflect his service as Lt. Governor and as Secretary of the Dept. of Commerce. Speeches from the majority of his term of office are missing.
