The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     John Wayne Mixson was the twelfth Lt. Governor to serve Florida.  After serving in the U.S. Navy during the second World War Mixson returned to the business of agriculture.  Mixson was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1967.  Mixson served five terms in the House. In 1978, Mixson accepted Senator D. Robert Graham's invitation to run as his Lieutenant Governor.  During his second term Mixson also served as the Secretary of the Dept. of Commerce.
Summary:     The series contains files on each trip made and events attended by Lt. Governor Mixson from 1978 to 1983.  Records include itineraries, schedules, and some correspondence pertaining to his service as both Lt. Governor and as Secretary of the Dept. of Commerce.
