Biographical/Historical: ********** D E A C C E S S I O N E D **********    Levy County was formed from portions of Alachua County by an act of the Legislative Council in 1845 (No. XXX, Teritorial Laws).  In 1877, the State Legislature enlarged Levy County by moving its boundary with Marion County farther east (Ch. 3060, Laws).  The Clerk of the Court in each county serves as the official custodian of county records.
Summary: ********** D E A C C E S S I O N E D **********    This series consists of microfilmed copies of delayed birth certificates and the petitions for delayed birth certificates for Levy County.  The certificates include the following information: the individual's name, date of birth, father's name and birthplace, mother's name and birthplace, date of parents' marriage, and types of documents supporting the applicant's proof of age.  The volumes are indexed.
