Biographical/Historical:     Baker County was created by an act (Ch. 1185, Laws) of the State Legislature on February 8, 1861.  Originally part of New River County, Baker County underwent one additional boundary change in 1911 (Ch. 6244, Laws).  The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of the records.
Summary:     This series consists of a microfilm copy of Baker County miscellaneous records from 1912-1937.  An index is included at the beginning of the reel.  The records are primarily real estate transactions, business leases, lumber leases, turpentine leases, and some probate records.  While some of the material is typed, much of the material is handwritten and not all the entries are entirely legible.
