	Biographical/Historical:	******** D E A C C E S S I O N E D ******** Taylor County was created by an act of the Legislature of Florida on December 23, 1856 (Chap. 806, Laws). It was formed from the southwestern portion of Madison County. The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of deed, marriage, and probate records.
	Summary:	******** D E A C C E S S I O N E D ******** This series consists of a microfilm copy of the delayed birth certificates for Taylor County, Florida from 1943-1945. The delayed birth certificate is a record that registers a birth after the fact and is usually issued by a place of later residence rather than the place of birth. The certificate provides such information as applicant's name, date of birth, and place of birth as well as the same information for the applicant's parents. The information contained in the application can be supported by family, school, and insurance records or by affidavit of persons with definite knowledge of the facts. Most certificates in the series abstract the supporting evidence and many have evidence attached.
