Biographical/Historical:     Glades County was created in 1921 by an act of the State Legislature (Ch. 8513, Laws).  It was created from the southeast portion of De Soto County.  The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of deed, marriage, and probate records.
Summary:     This series consists of a microfilm copy of the marriage records of Glades County, Florida, from 1921 to 1951.  The series contains marriage licenses.  Marriage licenses are printed documentswhich a couple takes to the individual performing the wedding ceremony. That person fills out the portion of the license certifying that the marriage took place and the license is returned to the clerk of the court.
