Biographical/Historical:     Calhoun County was created by an act of the Legislative Council on January 26, 1838.  Originally part of Washington and Jackson counties, Calhoun underwent several boundary changes until 1925. The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of deed, marriage, and probate records.
Summary:     This series consists of a microfilm copy of the progress dockets of Calhoun County, Florida from 1909 to 1924.  A docket is an abridged record of legal proceedings.  It records the progress of a case through the judicial system, listing changes in status and pending actions.  The progress dockets record the following information: names of the attorneys and parties, cause of action, and the type, cost and date of each action.  The progress dockets were kept for miscellaneous cases including foreclosures, divorce, injunctions and cases which sought damages.  The dockets are indexed.
