Summary:     This series consists of a microfilm copy of the apprenticeship records of Lake County, Florida from 1890 to 1914.  The series contains names of apprentices, their parents and the sponsors (1890-1914).
Apprentices were contracted as children by their parents to work under a skilled artisan or business person (sponsor) and learn a skill or trade.  The children usually began the apprenticeship around the age of ten and were finished at the age of eighteen or twenty-one.  When the apprenticeship was indentured, an agreement was made between the apprentice and the sponsor as a payment of debt.  An indentured apprenticeship could begin and end at any age.
