The delayed birth certificate is a record that registers a birth after the fact and is usually issued by a place of later residence rather than the place of birth.  The certificate provides such information as applicant's name, date of birth, and place of birth as well as the same information for the applicant's parents.  The information contained in the application can be supported by family, school, and insurance records or by affidavit of persons with definite knowledge of the facts.  Most certificates in the series abstract the supporting evidence and many have evidence attached.
