The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     This series contains gubernatorial appointments made or affected during the administrations of Governor Lawton M. Chiles. The series includes appointment files of successful candidates appointed to boards and commissions by the governor, and appointment files of inactive and abolished boards and commissions. An appointment file typically includes the appointment questionnaire, a copy of the commission, and any related correspondence. The appointment files document appointed, judicial, constitutional and other elected officials as well as selective service and resignations of elected officials.
