Summary:     This series consists of a microfilm copy of the deed records of Levy County, Florida, from 1850 to 1932.  The series includes indexes to deeds by grantors and grantees (1850-1932); indexes to mortgages by mortgagors and mortgagees (1850-1932); deed record books (1866-1886); homestead records (1883-1925); tax deed records (1876-1890); and a copy of the 1880 Census record for Levy County.
In the broadest sense, a deed (or conveyance) is a legal instrument by which real property is transferred from one party to another.  Deed books contain many types of title conveyances and contracts.  Among the most common types are warranty deeds, tax deeds, quitclaim deeds, and deeds of gift.
The indexes to deeds and mortgages list the names of the grantor and grantee (or mortgagor and mortgagee), the filing date, the book in which the entry may be found, the type of instrument, and a brief description of the deed, mortgage, etc.
The homestead records provide inventories of real and personal property exempt from forced sale by the courts under the homestead law of 1868.
The Census record includes names of individuals arranged by household, along with their races, sexes, and ages.
