Biographical/Historical: ********** D E A C C E S S I O N E D **********    Lake County was created by an act of the State Legislature on May 7, 1887 (Chap. 3771, Laws).  It was formed from Sumter and Orange Counties.  The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of deed, marriage, and probate records.
Summary: ********** D E A C C E S S I O N E D **********    This series consists of a microfilm copy of delayed birth certificates for Lake County, Florida from 1943 to 1975.  The certificates include the following information: the individual's name; date of birth; place of birth; father's name, race and birthplace; mother's name, race, and birthplace; and type(s) of documents supporting applicant's proof of age.  The materials are indexed.
