Biographical/Historical:     Citrus County was created by an act (Ch. 3773, Laws) of the State Legislature on June 2, 1887.  It was formed from a portion of Hernando County.  The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of deed, marriage, and probate records.
Summary:     This series contains a microfilm copy of the probate records from 1878 to 1935 for the County Court of Citrus County, Florida. The records include the General Index to County Judge's Records which indexes marriages, probate matters, and civil cases.  The probate records include wills, petitions, and orders documenting the distribution of estates to heirs.
