Biographical/Historical:     Brevard County was created by an act (Ch. 651, Laws) of the State Legislature on January 6, 1854.  Originally named St. Lucie County, Brevard underwent one additional boundary change in 1905 (CH.5567, Laws).  The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of deed, marriage, and probate records.
Summary:     This series contains a microfilm copy of probate records from 1886 to 1975 for the County Court of Brevard County, Florida.  The records include indexes, wills, and general probate records reflecting the dispersal of property to heirs.
