The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     Duval County is located in northeast Florida and includes the Jacksonville metropolitan area.  The Duval County Zoning Board Advisory Committee, acting on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners, held public hearings to consider petitions for rezoning.  It heard public testimony opposed and in favor of the zoning changes and made recommendations to the Duval County Zoning Board.
Summary:     This series contains the zoning advisory committee files from 1962 to 1964 maintained by the Duval County Board of Commissioners. It includes minutes of meetings, agenda, rezoning petitions considered, rezoning maps, and recommendations.  Also included are the billing files for public hearing notices published in 1962 in the Jacksonville Journal newspaper.
