Biographical/Historical:     In 1879, the state of Georgia began providing pensions for the confederate soldiers of Georgia.  In 1891, the laws were changed to include the widows of the soldiers.  The last pension was received in 1960.
Summary:     This series consists of microfilm of the Georgia Confederate pension records card index from 1879 to 1960.  Each card contains the soldier's and/or the widow's name, the county of residence, and unit designation.  The pension applications are in Series 1658, Georgia Confederate Pension records.
