Summary:
The series contains the background papers of the Constitution Revision Commission from 1977 to 1978. The record types include correspondence, citations of legal precedents, staff research reports, memoranda, published materials, presentations, and outside submissions. Most of the correspondence is incoming and expresses the views of "ordinary citizens," as well as "experts," on the subjects under study by the Commission. The legal precedents cover both Florida's and other states' cases of constitutional court decisions. Presentations and outside submissions were made to the Commission in order to create or outline proposed constitutional articles, sections, or amendments. Most of the published material covers the constitutions of other states and/or the scholarly concepts of constitutional creation or revision. Also included are press clippings that describe the Commission's activities and editorial comments on the need for adoption or rejection of certain aspects of the revision.
