	Biographical/Historical:	In 1997, the House Committee on Tourism was created in the place of the House Committee on Tourism and Cultural Affairs (1994-1996) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. It reviewed legislation on the promotion of tourism, cultural resources, international trade, small businesses, and economic development in Florida. The predecessors of this Committee were the House Committees on: Commerce (1968-1976); Tourism and Economic Development (1976-1986); Tourism and Cultural Affairs (1986-1988); International Trade and Economic Development (1986-1988); Small Business and Economic Development (1988-1990), Tourism and Economic Development (1990-1994). In 1994, it was renamed the House Committee on Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
	Summary:	This series contains audiotaped recordings of the House Committee on Tourism & Trade (2007 - ) and its predecessors: the House Committee on Tourism (1997-2006); the House Committee on Tourism and Cultural Affairs (1993-1996); the House Committee on Tourism, Hospitality, and Economic Development (1990-1993); the House Committee on Transmuted Economic Development (1977-1986); the House Committee on International Trade and Economic Development (1986-1988); the House Committee on Tourism and Cultural Affairs (1986-1988); and the House Committee on Small Business and Economic Development (1988-1990). The tapes document committee and subcommittee meetings and contain discussion on the promotion of tourism, cultural resources, international trade, small businesses, and economic development in Florida. The recordings may be indexed, but are not transcribed.
