In 1976, the House Committee on Retirement, Personnel, and Collective Bargaining (1976-1988) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions Ch. 68-35, Laws. The Committee assumed some of the functions of the Committee on Retirement, Personnel, and Claims (1972-1976), Manpower and Development (1970-1972), and the Labor and Industry (1968-1970). The Committee reviewed legislation on government retirement systems, employee benefits, collective bargaining, equal employment opportunity, job training, and personnel management.
In 1988, the Committee's functions were transferred to the House Committee on Employee and Management Relations (1989-1994).
