	Biographical/Historical:	In 1990, the House Committee on Public Schools (1990-1992) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The Committee reviewed legislation concerning educational issues from pre-kindergarten through high school. This Committee's functions were previously handled by the House Committee on Public School Education (1968-1970); the House Committee on Education (1970-1978); the House Committee on Education, K-12 (1978-1989); and the House Committee on Education (1989-1990). In 1992, its functions were again assigned to the House Committee on Education (1992-present).
	Summary:	This series contains audiotaped recordings of the House Committee on Public Schools from 1990 to 1992. The tapes document committee and subcommittee meetings and contain discussion on legislation pertaining to school management and organization; elementary and secondary education; school finance; and teacher certification. The tapes are not transcribed or indexed.
