	Biographical/Historical:	In 1970, the House Committee on Education became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. It assumed the functions of the Committee on Public School Education and the Committee on Higher Education. The committee reviewed legislation on public schools, school management, organization, teacher training, certifications, school finance, equal educational opportunity, and vocational education.
	Summary:	This series contains recordings of House Committee on Education (1970-1978, 1989-1990, 1993-1996), the Committee on Public Schools (1991-1992), the Select Committee on Educational Facilities (1995-1996), and Committee on General Education (2001-2002) meetings. The recordings contain discussion on educational laws and legislation.
