	Biographical/Historical:	In 2007, the House Committee on Tourism & Trade was created in the place of the House Committee on Tourism (1997-2006). The House Committee on Tourism & Trade became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The committee reviews legislation on the promotion of tourism, cultural resources, international trade, small businesses, and economic development in Florida. The predecessors of this Committee were the House Committees on: Commerce (1968-1976); Tourism and Economic Development (1976-1986); Tourism and Cultural Affairs (1986-1988); International Trade and Economic Development (1986-1988); and Small Business and Economic Development (1988-1990). In 1992, it was renamed the House Committee on Tourism and Economic Development.
