	Biographical/Historical:	In 1976, the House Committee on Retirement, Personnel, and Collective Bargaining (1976-1988) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions Ch. 68-35, Laws. The Committee assumed some of the functions of Retirement, Personnel, and Claims (1972-1976), Manpower and Development (1970-1972), and Labor and Industry (1968-1970). The Committee reviewed legislation on state and local government retirement systems and employee benefits; collective bargaining; equal employment opportunity; job training; and personnel management. In 1988, the Committee's functions were transferred to Employee and Management Relations (1989-1994).
	Summary:	This series contains the records of the House Committee on Retirement, Personnel, and Collective Bargaining (1977-1988) and Retirement, Personnel, and Claims (1975-1976). The series also contains records of the Committee on Industry and Labor (1969-1971), Manpower and Development (1969-1971), Ad Hoc Committee on Affirmative Action (1988), and Ad Hoc Committee on Collective Bargaining Impasse (1983). The records include bill files, meeting files, and subject files. It documents legislation on government retirement systems, returement benefits, collective bargaining, equal employment opportunity, job training, and personnel management.
