	Biographical/Historical:	In 1970, the House Committee on Education became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. It assumed the functions of the Committee on Public School Education and the Committee on Higher Education. The committee reviewed legislation on public schools, school management, organization, teacher training, certifications, school finance, equal educational opportunity, and vocational education.
	Summary:	This series contains the records of the House Committee on Education (1970-1978, 1989-1990, 1993-1996), the Committee on Public Schools (1991-1992), the Select Committee on Educational Facilities (1995-1996), and the Committee on General Education (2001-2002). It documents legislation on public schools, school management, organization, school finance, teacher certification, and vocational education.
