The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 1995, the Senate Ways and Means Committee again became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. Its two predecessors operated from 1968-1976 and 1978-1980. The Senate Committee on Appropriations handled these functions from 1976 to 1978 and again in 1980 when the Ways and Means Committee was abolished.  The Committee developes annual appropriations acts and reviewes legislation related to state appropriations and having a fiscal impact.
Summary:     This series contains the audiotapes of the Senate Ways and Means Committee (1970-1976; 1979-1980; 1995-1999, 2004-2006, 2009-2010). The tapes document committee and subcommittee meetings and contain discussion on legislation pertaining to appropriations.  The tapes are not transcribed or indexed.  The Archives does not have equipment to play the dictabelts which are in this series.
