	Biographical/Historical:	In 1990, the Senate Committee on Executive Business, Ethics and Elections (1990-present) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The Committee reviews legislation on elections laws, financial disclosure, and code of ethics for public officers and government employees. It also reviews all executive appointments and suspensions, and makes recommendations for Senate confirmation. The Committee was created by merging the Senate Committee on Ethics and Elections (1988-1990) and the Senate Committee on Executive Business (1976-1990). Prior to 1976, the Senate Select Committee on Executive Suspensions carried out the functions of the Senate Committee on Executive Business.
	Summary:	This series contains audiotaped recordings of the Senate Committee on Executive Business, Ethics and Elections since 1991. Also included are recordings from its predecessor Committees, the Senate Committee on Executive Business (1976-1990) and the Senate Select Committee on Executive Suspensions (1969-1975). Some meetings are recorded on videotape. The tapes document the committee and subcommittee meetings and contain discussion on legislation on voter registration, election laws, financial disclosure, and code of ethics for public officers and government employees. They also contain recommendations to the Senate on confirmation of executive appointments and suspension. The tapes are not transcribed or indexed.
