The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 1994 the Senate Ways and Means Committee was again created a standing commitee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws.  It had been a committee for the periods 1968-1976 and 1978-1980.  The Senate Committee on Appropriations handled the same functions from 1976 to 1978 and again from 1980-1994 when the Ways and Means Committee was abolished.  The Committee developed annual appropriations acts and reviewed legislation related to state appropriations and having a fiscal impact.  The Ways and Means Committee was re-established in 1994.
Summary:     This series contains the records of the Senate Ways and Means Committee (1968-1976; 1978-1980; 1994 to present).  The records include bill files, meeting files, correspondence, agenda, and subject files.  It documents annual appropriations acts and legislation related to state appropriations and having a fiscal impact.  The Senate Ways and Means Committee was renamed the Senate Appropriations Committee from 1982-1994.  The committee was again renamed Senate Ways and Means in the 1994 Organizational session.
