The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 1970, the Senate Committee on Universities and Community Colleges became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The committee reviewed legislation on community colleges, universities, and higher education.  The Committee was abolished and its functions returned to the Senate Committee on Education in 1973, which previously had handled all levels of education (1968-1970).
Summary:     This series contains the records of the Senate Committee on Universities and Community Colleges (1971-1972). The records document legislation pertaining to postsecondary education.
